When have you learned the most as
a mother? For me, I have learned the most during the obstacles. You know, when
your child is sick and throwing up and you are not sure when it will ever end,
when you are getting wake up calls at the break of dawn, when you are doing
countless loads of laundry, when you are cuddling and singing songs to put them
at ease, when you haven’t showered and you are on day 5 of dry shampoo, when
your house is a disaster and you are just trying to survive. Yes, those
obstacles are when I have learned the most. I am sure I am not the only one who
has been there, right?
Those moments have taught me what
real love is. It has shown me what having patience means. God chose us for our
kids. He matched us perfectly with them. He also placed them in our lives, not
only for us to teach them, but for them to teach us. When it comes to Anna
teaching me, I love her questions, hearing her thoughts of the world, seeing
her reaction to things, and seeing her grow into the girl God meant for her to
Before I had Anna, I was afraid of what type of mom I would be. I was afraid I wouldn’t have enough love to go around. I was afraid I wouldn’t know how to be the mom that I should be. Now, three years later, I am proud to call myself a Mom. I wear that name proudly. I am beyond blessed and thankful that God gave me Anna. I am not the same person I was before having her. I have learned and grown tremendously, stepped out of my comfort zone, gained confidence, and have expanded so much in love. I say this to remind us all that in the midst of chaos, take a deep breath and feel the love. Feel where God has placed you, and embrace it the best you can. When the load gets too tough to carry, well, my friend, we have God to carry that weight for us. The way we feel about our kids and the endless love we have for them, God has that for us, plus some.
